Description: This session discussed evidence-based ways to handle toddler aggression and explored types of praise and criticism that support young children. This session discussed the impacts of praise and criticism on young children and discussed the changes in CDC milestones.

Who This Course Is Good For:

  • Any ASHA member, CCC holder, or other professional that is licensed or credentialed to practice speech-language pathology (SLP) or audiology or preparing to earn ASHA CEUs.
  • Any speech-language pathologist (SLP) who works with in early intervention, preschool, or other settings with children birth to 5.

CARA TAMBELLINI M.A. CCC-SLP

Cara Tambellini is a  Speech-Language Pathologist with more than fifteen years of experience. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Northwestern University (Chicago, IL) and her M.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University, which is ranked in the top 5 Graduate Speech-Language Pathology programs in the United States (US News & World Report Ranking). Cara has experience working in a variety of settings, including private practice, early intervention, schools, and rehabilitation hospitals. Cara uses evidence-based therapeutic interventions. She tailors speech therapy sessions to the individual needs of each client. Her clients look forward to speech therapy as Cara strives to make each therapy session fun and motivating. DR. CARA GOODWIN, PhD

Dr. Cara Goodwin, PhD, the founder of Parenting Translator, a mother to three young children, and a licensed psychologist (with a PhD in child clinical psychology). Before I had my second child, I worked as a psychologist and researcher specializing in child development. I spent my days doing research in child psychology and neuroscience, assessing children for developmental problems, doing therapy with children of all ages, and training parents on how to use the most recent scientific findings to help their children.
