Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for courses?

Click on the Courses tab. Find a course you want to take. Select Take this Course. Pick a membership level and complete payment. Once you receive a membership confirmation, you will be able to start the course.

Do I have to pay to listen?

No. You can listen to podcast episodes on the Speechie Side Up podcast, other participating podcasts, or select webinar events for free. You only need to register for a course if you want to earn a certificate or ASHA CEUs.

How do I earn ASHA CEUs?

  1. Register for a course if you are not already a Tassel member.
  2. Listen to the podcourse or attend the webinar.
  3. Complete a brief program evaluation survey.
  4. Pass a brief quiz and achieve an 80% or higher score.
  5. Finish the program evaluation and pass the quiz by the end date indicated on the course details page.
  6. You must have a free Tassel account with updated ASHA information in your profile.
  7. Tassel will automatically report your course participation to ASHA.

How many CEUs can I earn?

Each podcourse is worth .1 ASHA CEUs.

How do I access the course materials?

You need to register for the course first, then you will have access to the course, program evaluation, and quiz.

How do I submit my ASHA paperwork?

Your program evaluation and quiz will be automatically recorded in your Tassel Account. Make sure all of your ASHA information is updated in your profile. Tassel will automatically submit your course participation to ASHA once the course requirements are met.

When is the deadline to submit ASHA paperwork?

See the Course Details under each course for specific time frames.

Do I have to take all of the courses?

No. You can listen to as many podcast episodes as you want for free. If you want to earn ASHA CEUs for a particular podcourse, then you will need to register for that course and select a membership level if you are not already a member.

I am in need of a disability-related accomodation.

Will the live CEUs count towards my state’s re-certification guidelines?

We are unable to provide recommendations based on state requirements. However, here is a listing of the state-by-state requirements provided by ASHA that you might find helpful.

How do I complete the ASHA forms?

You do not need to complete an ASHA form. Tassel will complete the form using the information in your profile. Please ensure your profile has updated ASHA information.
