Description: This course supports SLPs in moving beyond survival mode to build flexible, sustainable careers. Participants learn how shifting priorities influence decisions and explore mindfulness, self-care, and boundary-setting practices that protect well-being. Practical strategies for intentional pivots help SLPs align their work with personal values and long-term fulfillment.

Who This Course Is Good For:

  • Any ASHA member, CCC holder, or other professional licensed or credentialed to practice speech-language pathology (SLP) or audiology.
  • Any SLP experiencing burnout, high caseloads, or challenges balancing personal and professional demands.
  • Any professional seeking practical strategies for mindfulness, self-care, and boundary-setting to create a more sustainable career.
  • Any SLP considering a career pivot, leadership transition, or nontraditional professional path aligned with personal values.

Who This Course Isn’t Good For:

  • Any professional not interested in career development, self-care, or work–life balance.
  • Any SLP looking exclusively for clinical treatment methods or intervention techniques (this course focuses on career sustainability rather than therapy approaches).

Presenters:

VENITA LITVACK, M.A, CCC-SLP

Venita is an Assistive Technology (AT) Consultant in south Florida. She has a passion for using AAC, AT, and literacy to support individuals with complex communication needs, autism, and other disabilities. Venita has delivered poster presentations on several topics related to AAC at ASHA and co-presented several ASHA CEU accredited courses. Venita co-authored two articles published in ASHA Leader’s online publication, as well as the Lou Knows What to Do book series published by Boys Town Press. Recently, Venita started utilizing the power of social media to empower and motivate educators across the country through the Speechie Side Up podcast, blog, Instagram account, and YouTube channel.

OLIVIA STANDA JENSEN, SLPD, CCC-SLP

Dr. Olivia Jensen is a three-time graduate of Northwestern University, holding a clinical doctorate (SLPD) in speech-language pathology. With more than a decade of experience in medical SLP practice, she brings both depth and authenticity to her work. As a private practice owner and content creator, Dr. Jensen is passionate about empowering SLPs through practical, relatable content that supports both professional success and personal growth. A mom of three and entrepreneur, she inspires others to embrace change, set boundaries, and thrive in flexible, fulfilling careers at the bedside and beyond.
