SHOW NOTES

Introduction

This week I had the pleasure of speaking with author and autism sibling, Natalie Castro!

In this episode, we discuss what it was like growing up with a sibling with autism, the importance of getting autism siblings involved in speech and language therapy, and about a new book she wrote with her sister who has autism.

Natalie’s sister, Angie, also makes a guest appearance on the show during our game. Although Natalie is the sole guardian of Angie, we made sure to get consent from Angie, as well, to be featured on the show. We were delighted she said yes, because Angie provided insight into the dynamic between autism siblings and what it’s like living as an adult with autism.

You will be sure to learn a lot during this episode, and adopt a unique perspective that will hopefully encourage you to include autism siblings in your therapy. It is one thing to imagine what a day in the life is like for families affected by autism, but it is another to hear it from a family member.

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with these two, and I’m sure you’ll love hearing from them too!
