SHOW NOTES

Introduction

This week I had the pleasure of speaking with SLP and author, Emily Cohen from Tandem Speech Therapy!

In this episode, we discuss what it was like starting a private practice, her go-to strategies for teaching language through play, and her new book called Playing With Purpose.

This is really the first episode where we dive into what it takes to run a private practice. It was also really inspiring to hear about the book she wrote. I have a soft spot for fellow SLP authors. 😊 We know you’re going to love this episode!

Topics/Questions:

  1. You founded Tandem Speech Therapy in 2017. What inspired you to start your own practice?
  2. Your book Playing With Purpose was released about six months ago. Congratulations! Tell me more about the book and what people can expect.
  3. What are your go-to play strategies for teaching language through play?
  4. What are your tips for SLPs in regards to coaching parents?

Game: What team are you on?

You’ll have to tune into the episode to find out Emily’s answers!
