SHOW NOTES

Introduction

This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Catherine Callahan of Chi Kids Feeding. Catherine is a mom of 3, feeding specialist, and co-creator of a product called Milton the Mealtime Companion.

In this episode, we discuss food chaining, a product for picky eaters that she helped create, and courses that she recommends to help you learn more about feeding and swallowing.

Catherine is only the second feeding specialist we have had on the show so if this is your area of interest, then you’re going to love this episode!

Topics/Questions:

  1. You wrote a blog poston how to feed a picky eater with food chaining. Can you summarize that articlefor us?
  2. You helped create aproduct called Milton the Mealtime Companion. What is it and how does it helppicky eaters try new foods?
  3. What is babyled feeding and what resources are available for SLPs to learn more? (online BabyLed Feeding Course)
  4. What other courses or resources do you recommend for SLPs who want to learn more about feeding and swallowing?

Game: Adventures In Veggieland!

I asked Catherine to name 4 vegetables. Each vegetable had a corresponding question.

  1. What would you be if you were not an SLP?
  2. What’s your favorite holiday?
